News Release from: Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office
The Josephine County Friends of Search and Rescue is conducting their annual fundraiser this month. The fundraiser is in the form of a mailer, which provides information about the unit and asks for community support in their drive for funds. This is a legitimate fundraiser, and has been the main source of operating funds for the all-volunteer unit. The unit has done this particular mailer since 1998, and has been the recipient of an outpouring of support from local citizens, businesses and civic groups.
Included in the mailer is a letter with a detachable donation form and a return envelope.
The Search and Rescue unit is primarily funded through the generosity of local citizens, businesses, civic groups and grants. Any financial or equipment donations that interested individuals or groups can give will go directly to the group's primary mission: finding lost or injured citizens, and returning them safely to their loved ones.
All donations are tax deductible and go directly to the nonprofit Search and Rescue organization.
