The man was hiking the flumes trail just behind the Feather River Hospital when he somehow fell. The Butte County Sheriff's Office, Search and Rescue and Cal Fire responded to the area around 6:20. Crews had four helicopters on scene to rescue the injured victim. The victim was flown to enloe medical center with lacerations and a broken leg. One of the rescuers was also injured in the tactical rescue and was taken to the hospital and treated.A man falls 20 to 30 feet from a popular hiking trail in Paradise Sunday evening.
It is nice to see coverage of rescue ops, but this TV news report misses the mark. Multiple victims, not one. 2 Rescue helo's and an air ambulance (=3 helos). The photograph is of a "nice" section of trail/flume. The victims were in VERY difficult terrain, off trail.
Keep up the good work. Enjoy the blog a lot.
